Case Officer at the Licensing Unit
Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development, with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. We are always on the lookout for new skills - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Do you want to use your economic or legal expertise to contribute to a safer society? Here at the Licensing Unit, we work with a clear purpose - to promote public health and ensure legally sound decisions.
We are now looking for an engaged colleague who wants to make a difference together with us!
The Alcohol Act and the Tobacco and Similar Products Act are protective legislations with a clear purpose: to promote public health. As a case officer with us, you will work with this perspective in focus. You are an important part of creating safe environments and preventing risks associated with alcohol and tobacco. The work involves both service and control - you provide support and guidance to entrepreneurs while safeguarding legal certainty and public health. Every decision made contributes to a safer society.
Your new job
As a case officer with us, you will primarily work with licensing assessments and supervision according to the Alcohol Act and the Tobacco and Similar Products Act. Your work includes, among other things:
- Qualified case processing with legal and economic assessments as well as some administrative work that follows the processing
- Preparing decision-making materials for the Functional Support Committee and making certain delegated decisions
- Supervision of businesses with serving permits and sales of tobacco, low-alcohol beer, e-cigarettes, refillable containers, tobacco-free nicotine products, and over-the-counter medications
- Physical inspections at restaurants and sales outlets
An important part of the job is to provide clear and easily understandable information about the law's provisions to entrepreneurs and other actors. You offer support and service throughout the application process, focusing on legal certainty and good dialogue. The role also involves close cooperation with other authorities to ensure effective and coordinated handling.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who has completed a university degree of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits) in economics or law, or another equivalent higher education that the employer assesses as comparable.
You have several years of experience in case processing, investigative work, and/or administrative authority. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
It is an advantage if you have experience in economic auditing, such as working with annual reports, accounting, company law, and auditing regulations. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge in administrative law and/or legal certainty.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have a high level of personal maturity and a good ability to collaborate with others. You are skilled at creating and maintaining relationships, while also having a service-oriented approach and always putting the needs of the customer and the organization in focus.
As a person, you are structured and quality-conscious, which means you work carefully and efficiently. Additionally, you have a strong drive and are goal- and result-oriented, which makes you work proactively to achieve both individual and shared goals.
In the recruitment process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability!
We offer you
In the unit, there are good conditions for you to develop your skills in case processing and administrative authority as well as issues related to both the Alcohol Act and the Tobacco and Similar Products Act. As an employee of Jönköping Municipality, you will also benefit from perks such as:
- Flexible working hours
- Shortened working hours June-August
- Paid vacation from the first year of employment
- Opportunity for vacation exchange
- Health and wellness allowance
- Opportunity for remote work
